Maintaining long-term close friendships is a vital sign of a person’s maturity, loyalty, and love. My longest is at 43 years now, and all of my friendships are at least a dozen years or better. Though I make friends easily, I am very particular about the people I allow into my world. I believe that friends pull each other to the lowest common denominator, so it is vital to surround yourself with positive and uplifting friends. I hold traditional family values. I believe all life is a gift from God and precious above all else. I believe in honesty and directness, loyalty, kindness, and strength of character. I desire a life lived at peace with God, myself, and those around me. Jealousy, lying, half-truths, insecurity, resentfulness, and ease to anger are all big turn-offs for me.
