Isn't it hard to describe yourself in a few sentences? Okay, let's give it a try... My Faith. This is a good place to start because it is a very important part of my life. In John 3:3 Jesus said, "unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” I am a born again Christian as Jesus used that term. I became a follower of Jesus Christ at age 19, and went on to graduate from a Bible College. My faith is one of the most important things for you to know about me, because it influences all of my decisions and my way of life. I'm reading God's Word daily (usually read the whole Bible every year) and reading good books that grow my faith. Devoting time for prayer is a high priority in my life. I'm looking for a future wife who shares my faith and who enjoys discussions about the Bible and spiritual things, and who enjoys praying together. If you would not describe yourself as a “born again Christian”, then you might as well stop reading right here because there is not going to be a match between us. One further note is appropriate here: I believe in and practice the Biblical view of sex and marriage. Sex was God's idea (Genesis 1:27), but he prescribed specific limits on sex for our good. All sex outside of marriage is considered fornication in the Bible. I am committed to celibacy until marriage. Temptation is real, and I know from personal experience that the best defense against this type of temptation is having agreed upon boundaries in the dating relationship that keep us well clear of the most severe temptations. I am committed to discussing and finding agreement with any woman I date on what appropriate boundaries we should set that will assist us in living lives in submission to God. My Interests. I am an explorer at heart, and I love to travel. I have a natural curiosity and always want to know what is over the next hill or around the next bend in the road. I've been to about 96 countries. I used to do the backpacker low budget kind of travel, but tend to add in a few more creature comforts now. I still love going to places the tourist groups avoid, and enjoy camping and hiking. Whether it is a safari in Kenya, hiking into the mountains of Rwanda to find Mountain Gorillas, paragliding in Bali, train trip across China, Trekking to ancient villages in Tibet and Nepal, hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, SCUBA diving in Malaysia or exploring by motorcycle in Thailand, I never tire of discovering new places. But it would be SO MUCH more fun if you were with me! I enjoy snow skiing and snow boarding, hiking, biking, SCUBA diving and snorkeling, paragliding, motorcycle riding and sailing. Aviation has been a big part of my life and I love to fly. My Personality. I'm a thinker and somewhat analytical. I love technical things. I am a reader of mostly non-fiction. I love history and biography, travel and geography, theology and spiritual growth and of course aviation. I am an introvert, but not on the extreme side. I take an interest in people and am one to draw out the other person in conversation. Everyone has a story, and it is often an interesting one even if they don't think so. On the Meyers-Briggs scale, I'm an INTJ, and I’m attracted to the opposite personality types. My Career. I’m a retired airline pilot. I’m spent most of my career flying Boeing airliners all over the world. I've worked for several companies and have been a captain since 1995. I have been engaged in various types of aviation, including paragliding, sailplanes, helicopters, and airplanes of every size. I've worked in other areas including teaching in a college, engineering, Emergency Medical Technician, but most of my adult life has been in aviation. I retired as of May 2024 with the intention to do more international travel.
