About me, I'm not simple nor complicated, I have a wealth of life experience which has tempered but not jaded me and I look forward to what's yet to come. I've lived alone for 8 or so years, dated during that time but, like you, haven't found the one. I have a verity of interests and they change from time to time. I like to think I'm open minded but I'm not exactly sure of the definition, we all have boundaries. I have all the stuff (material) you're supposed to have at this age but it's just stuff. My children are grown, they’re local and I see them as often as their lives allow. Its funny how busy we get in our thirties and then, in our fifties, realize the things we were so busy with didn't really matter. I'm family oriented, close to my brother and sisters as well as my children and grandchildren, my family are my best friends, although I have friends outside of them. I play golf, weather permitting, exercise, though not a gym rat and enjoy activity as well as down time. I have room in my heart for someone so I'm here looking perhaps it's you. What I offer and what I hope for in a friend and lover are the same: the philosophical conviction that every person has dignity, and the desire to truly see others in all of their [our] messy humanity. From there the joys of recognition, desire, and meaningful acceptance can spring forth. After that, whatever you like and whatever I like to do or eat or read or sing or play ... there's room for it all, and ever more to be discovered.

Describe a little of your personality and character traits. (Are you funny, laid back, more serious, open, shy, etc.?) My interests are wide ranging. If it helps, Myers-Briggs says I am an INTJ. On the other hand, I work hard at separating work and play. I like meeting new people, but I am drawn to those with goals and ambitions. And if spiced with a sense of humor all the better. Describe your Christian faith. Where are you at and what are your goals? What Scripture verses are important to you? I usually offer up Gal 6.2 as a focal passage, but now I would include 1 Cor 13- there are so many. Jn 13.34 works as a memory verse. I can describe my faith as fixed- Paul's testimony in 2 Cor 11.25 comes to mind. What would be the perfect setting for a first meeting with a new friend or date? Describe it :-) Any place to talk, to share one's involvement or activities. A favorite restaurant, provided it is convenient enough to explore one's interests without much interference. I am less interested in the environment- it is the person that interests me. I want to know the person in a personal way. What are your favorite activities? (Including sports, leisure, artistic/musical, etc.) Growing up in Florida meant lots of outdoor activities- living close to the beach was very convenient. I was also a naval aviator, so being around the water was ideal for me. Today circumstances are different. Much leisure activity has to do with church activity, but I am looking to balance that a little better. Since I no longer live near the water, I am gaining exposure to the arts, and community involvement all of which is very appealing. Describe your current occupation. Do you like what you do? What is your dream job? I am currently self employed, and also work at the church. I like what I do, but balance is needed too. I don't want to be identified as an occupation. Rather, to grow and be enriched by other things. To include a partner that is similar in goals and ambitions. Where did you go to school (i.e. high school or college/university, etc.)? What did you study? Did you like it? Would you like to do more? High School in Miami; College grad in economics; Seminary/Divinity School vocational degrees. One of the better things I did for myself, and I would do it all again. Not always easy, but I am far better for it. Some things I would have liked to learn but didn't (more finance, piano, other languages); other things I could have done without (term papers). What are some of your personal goals in life? Today an important goal would be to travel. So much time was invested to get where I am, but now I would like to see many things I've learned about. Europe: to visit the major cities, art museums, people and food; Asia: to explore the east; Holy Land; And in the USA to visit points further west (Grand Canyon, California); Islands: Bahamas, maybe via cruise; Cuba: maybe? These are just a few ideas to get started. How did your previous relationship end and what positive lessons have you learned which will help you succeed in future relationships? Reading some of the other profiles has me thinking how different and unique they all are. Mine is no different. For me, the takeaway is to learn from the past so as to enrich the future. There is always a lesson if I look. My hope is to be inspired by them, to inspire, and to share the journey. Where were you born? Have you ever traveled? If so, where? What is your ideal adventure? Miami was my hometown, but after graduating I traveled widely. My Navy time had me all over the world- England, Norway, Amsterdam, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Bahamas, Germany, France, Spain, Columbia. I would like to go back to some of them. Is there anything else you would like to add? This is your chance to get in that last (but not least:-) bit of important info that you would like others to know. If you've come this far reading then I must know you already! Blessings on you as you share your life. Thanks for allowing me to share mine with you.
